A state-owned rail infrastructure manager responsible for the construction and management of national rail infrastructure. KR was established in 2004 to develop an efficient national rail network and manage rail infrastructure and assets. Its activities include the development of high-speed rail lines, beginning with the Gyeongbu High-Speed Rail in 2004, followed by the Honam and Suseo High-Speed Rail lines, as well as the expansion of metropolitan rail networks in the capital region.
